Building Through Quality Exposures

Team Members,

I could not be more excited than I am right now to be writing you! I am just returning from our 2011 Legacy Retreat to beautiful Maui, Hawaii. We spent the better part of a week with many of our top leaders from around the world where we enjoyed all that Maui has to offer.

The weather was perfect, the activities (which included snorkeling, whale watching, golfing, biking and spa treatments) were amazing, the food was terrific and most importantly the social interaction with great people was inspiring. I wish all of you could have been present to experience the Legacy Retreat firsthand and see the vision that is being created and implemented in markets worldwide.

Once again, we started the new year with a great month. January was another exciting month of growth and success in our North America market. I believe a key indicator to our success is the amount of new people consuming our products and getting involved in our business opportunity.

One thing that I love about our business is the fact that we are not selling people something they may not necessarily need. We are SHARING something that everyone can benefit from. One of the key indicators to growth and success in our business is the amount of new people we SHARE our products, opportunity and company mission with.

John Hewlett calls the action of sharing our business with people “quality exposures”. A quality exposure is taking the opportunity to SHARE the product, the company, and the business opportunity with another person in an effective way. It may be through a well thought out video email, a phone call, or best yet -  in person face to face. Regardless of the medium, those who take the opportunity to have the most quality exposures see the most growth and success in their business. The formula is simple!

I was recently traveling with Steve and Roxanne Seely, doing meetings throughout the Mountain West. As we were renting a vehicle one morning, I turned around to find Steve and Roxanne talking with a woman they had just met on the shuttle on our way to the rental facility. In a very tactful and professional way, her interest was piqued and she received the Bless Your Heart DVD with Steve’s name and contact information for follow-up. Another quality exposure! I will tell you, that was not the only time during our trip Steve and Roxanne took advantage of creating a quality exposure with someone new.

I often get asked by new Team Members, “what is the key to achieving success" or "what do the 'Leaders' do that make them so successful?” The answer often is not what people think. My response is that they do the simple things extraordinarily well and consistently. They are relentless in their pursuit to share the products, business opportunity and company with everyone they meet. They look for opportunities to have many, many quality exposures. They also follow up, follow up, and follow up some more with their people. They simply lead by example. If all of us will look for more opportunities to have quality exposures we will see our business grow exponentially. The offering and opportunity is way too compelling for it not to. It is merely a matter of sharing it with enough people in the form of a quality exposure. The product and opportunity will take care of itself.

I believe we are at the beginning of something incredibly exciting. I believe we could see our business begin to grow even faster than it did in 2010. If we all make it our goal to create and look for quality exposures in our everyday life, it will happenI am grateful to be a small part of it and look forward to seeing many of you in the very near future.
