 Over half of American adults use dietary supplements. In a fast-paced society where supplementation becomes essential to maintain good health, many people have realized the benefits that come from supplements that would otherwise be lost due poor diets. However, these questions remain: Are all supplements created equal? Do all of them really do good for our bodies? How can we be sure we are getting the best available supplements?

In the past four years one in two inspections by the FDA have turned up significant manufacturing practice violations for supplements. This startling statistic just so happens to be the highest rate of any FDA regulated industry for non-compliance.

In 2012 there were more than 80 products labeled as supplements to promote energy and muscle gain that were found to contain dangerous ingredients including steroids, stimulants and hormones. All tested products were easily obtained from online and retail stores.

One of Synergy's talented Team Members, Jennifer Smestad, was recently crowned Miss Arizona. As this impressive young lady represents her home state on the Miss America stage, and represents Synergy WorldWide behind the scenes, she uses kindness, a healthy lifestyle and a dynamic background to make a great impression. 

In between her travels and media appearances, Jennifer took some time to explain a bit of her story as well as a few reasons why Synergy has become an important part of her life.

Synergy: How was the experience of being crowned Miss Arizona?

Jennifer Smestad: It was incredible. I loved it. I didn't “not-expect” to win, but then I didn't expect to win either. So it was a shock either way, and it was awesome.

What was the rest of the night like, after the pageant was over? What did you do after being crowned?

Right after, I had photos with everyone-- the other contestants, my family-- that took about an hour probably. Then we had a little conference where I spoke a little bit, family and friends got together. Then I went home, brought all my stuff home, and went to bed. Actually I had a piece of cake first. Then I got up 2 hours later for a news interview, so I got two hours of sleep that night.

SLMsmart has been a huge success since its launch earlier this year. The feedback has been positive, the results have been very pleasing to Dr. Stacey Bell and the other minds behind the formula. Dr. Joseph Prendergast will join us for this month's Cardio Call on Wednesday, August 14. Invite your guests and learn from Dr. Joe as he details the fascinating science behind ProArgi-9+ and how its ingredients work to promote a healthy heart.

Mylo Berstad of Saskatchewan, Canada is no stranger to hard work. In fact, he developed a strong work ethic early in his life, working as a dairy farmer for over 17 years. “We milked 110 [cows each day]," said Berstad, "so they were long days.” He then explored his talent for sales and business, selling investments until age 40. Now, he has a small business selling semi tires and spends the rest of his time sharing the Synergy Advantage with as many people as he can.

INTRODUCED TO SYNERGY

Berstad was introduced to ProArgi-9+ by friend and fellow Canadian Ben Moosman. “I was at an Agribition farm show in this province. I was down there selling semi tires at the show. I took a break and went around; I saw Ben there and started talking to him. I got interested in the product just from what he had told me about what it had done for him. I was looking [for things that could help with] controlling my high blood pressure-- that was the reason I purchased my first two cans from him.”

BENEFITING FROM THE PRODUCT

At the Agribition show, Berstad took his first scoop of ProArgi-9+ and noticed right away that his ability to breathe while carrying suitcases up stairs seemed to be enhanced. “I thought: ‘No, that can’t be from that stuff.’ But anyhow, that was the very first thing that I felt.”

Berstad’s next experience with the product happened in December of 2012. He had been dealing with health issues and an injury for quite some time. After only three days of taking ProArgi-9+, he started experiencing a variety of remarkable benefits. He was amazed. “That’s when I got very excited about this product.”
