National Get Outdoors Day

June 12, 2010 is National Get Outdoors Day (GO Day). GO Day is an annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. Spend the day outside building relationships, exercising, and soaking up fresh air and sunlight.

GO Day is part of Great Outdoors Month which helps to highlight the benefits of spending time and volunteering outside to individuals, families, communities and the nation. According to USA.gov, all month long people are celebrating opportunities to spend time outdoors and maintain a healthier lifestyle. For example, through recreational activities such as fishing skiing, biking, and nature watching, we can enjoy the outdoors while maintaining a healthier lifestyle. In addition, volunteerism for environmental education programs, local parks and nature conservancies helps to sustain park trails, restore wildlife habitats, and protect our environment for future generations.

GO Day and the Great Outdoors Month reflect Synergy’s mission to Leave a Legacy and to live healthier lifestyles. Take advantage of this opportunity to take Synergy’s mission to heart, and get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
