Omega-3: Protection for the heart

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Omega-3 is one of four products included in December's Holiday Pack.

Of the cardiovascular supplements available, omega-3 fatty acids are renowned for their proven heart health benefits. Omega-3 is a natural triglyceride fish lipid concentrate rich in EPA and DHA. These fatty acids are not produced by the body and can only be obtained through the diet.

Synergy Omega-3 is a source of two fatty acids, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Supportive but not conclusive research shows that the consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.*

Also known as polyunsaturated fatty acids, studies have shown that omega-3 contributes to the body’s ability to regulate the ratio of HDLs to LDLs. This important function plays a major role in sustaining normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
